We have asked Claire Solery, attentive passionate of Korean culture, to tell us about current star G-Dragon. Claire is the author of Out of Korea, where she shares visual and artistic tendencies from Korea, especially if they have a link with France. Contemporary art, photo, cinema, Kpop are her main interests.

As part of Big Bang’s Alive Galaxy World tour, Big Bang set their foot in China the first time 2 days ago. 1 hour after their concert in Shanghai had started, there were still as many as 2000 fans who did not have a ticket waiting outside the venue. The price for the VIP ticket even reached 10000 Renmenbin. The fans sang both the new and old songs with the group. Members had also practiced their Chinese beforehand. The one who spoke Chinese most was Seungri but his Chinese was teased by the fans since they said he has Cantonese accent.

Q: Your new album ‘Alive’ has received good comments, it is said that G-Dragon has participated in melody and lyrics writing of all the songs?
GD: Yes, I am so glad that I have participated in this album from the perspective of producer; however, objectively speaking,I want to show you our new sides…I was very troubled to think of it when it came to this part. I want to show you the message that ‘Big Bang is still alive; and convey you the ‘pains’ and ‘internal struggles’ that we have been going through this year so we have created ‘Blue’.
