Interviewer: Many fans have been looking forward to hear from you. How have you been?
TOP: These days, I’m trying to concentrate on this album, ALIVE. Actually, there was a drama that I was working for 3 months but I cancelled it so I can focus on this album.
Interviewer: How have you been?
Daesung: We had received the award ‘World Wide Act’ on EMA last year. It was a first that an Asian got a prize on EMA. We saw that award ceremony when we were still just a trainee. So it felt like a dream. I had YG Family Concerts in Korea and Japan with YG Family. These days, I’m doing my best for this album, ALIVE. I: It has been a long time. How have you been?
GD: I’ve been fine. I spent my time with my family. Prepared for this album and spent some time thinking this and that.
I: What is your thought about singers? I wonder, what do you think about your figure?
“I have heard Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ a hundred times because that song has really been in my mind these days. I would also want to recommend these songs. When you are feeling blue, just listen to Adam Lambert’s song; ‘What Do You Want From Me’ and you will feel better. ‘Number one’ by Pharell feat Kanye West will make you feel better as well. I listen to ‘Breathe’ by Telepopmusik once a day. I want to listen to these songs together.”
I hope people don’t simply listen to an artists’ new album and watch one of their performances, but they should set a standard for themselves and judge what is outstanding music. There are a lot of music out there with almost the same standards and practically the same styles. I want to be the model answer to that; to be the standard that people can judge what is good music or not. However, if there are better and more outstanding musicians than me that can present a better answer, I will feel happy too. GD SAYS….FASHION & PASSION
As with other hip-hop artists, I also want to have my own brand but compared to that, there’s something I want even more and that is to open my own store; a store that is the most recommended place to go in Korea for fashionistas around the world when they come here to play. I want people to feel that the store has cool staff, trendy clothes, good music and it’s somewhere that combines both the fashion trend and culture – a store where they can learn a lot from.
I can’t decide whether BIGBANG was here first or G-dragon was; the feeling is like whether there was chicken before egg? With BIGBANG came my solo, with the members came the group, BIGBANG. I never really thought about it in this aspect before.
