Q: It’s been a year since your last album, What are your thoughts on it? And You’re going to do a tour.

GD: There aren’t enough words to describe it. There were many things last year and it’s an album that we finally made so we’re nervous in making this. Each member put every single moment of their time in completing the album. We want to make every performance in the tour a really cool one for the fans who have waited for us.

D-LITE: All the members became one as we made this. The staff of YG family and other artists told us that, “This is the best album you’ve ever released”. We also have the confidence to say that too. We want to perform with thankfullness towards the fans.

SOL: This was an album that has a very big meaning and that has became a turning point for me, and for BIGBANG. The colour of BIGBANG is really pronounced in it. I think the albums that we will make from now on will have a much stronger “BIGBANG colour”.

VI: We have upgraded in everything and i think that I have grown musically and also as a human being. I am confident (with this album).

TOP: This is an album that we made with our full power, and one that has become BIGBANG’s new meaning. Many of the songs are in Japanese. We thought a lot about the lyrics in Japanese and put alot of effort in making it so I hope you will listen to it well.

Q: What’s the theme/concept of this album?

D-LITE: The members that were frozen unfreeze slowly… I think that we’re able to relay all our passion and the thirst for performance by this album.

Q: GDRAGON, you were involved in the song producing and lyrics writing for every song. Were there any things that were hard for you as the producer?

GD: Making an album isnt something you can do just like that if you try hard. You feel the feeling according to the situation and get inspiration from a lot of things. Then you have fun out of the situation you’re in now and do your stuff. This time we made all our energy into one and worked with “give-and-take” so we we’rent tired at all and had a fun time.

Q: Tell us about the songs, one by one.

[INTRO]

SOL: It symbolizes the whole album’s concept. It’s about “The moment you fall”, but instead of just falling, it’s about “having fun while your falling and feeling the freedom”. “まだ生きてる(I’m still alive)” expresses “ALIVE”.

[FANTASTIC BABY]

VI: It’s the most upbeat fun song in the album. I think it will be able to show that BIGBANG really is alive. It’s very classy,the costumes are glittery and we filmed the PV(MV) to have a “fantastic” and special feeling. As for the performance, SOL’s solo dance is really Fantastic!

SOL: M-flo’s Verbal wrote the Japanese version of the lyrics for us. It matches the Korean lyrics and the recording went smoothly. In the PV, the members’ visuals were important and each member had a set of their own. I think you can feel each of our stories. (T/N:*m-flo is a famous artist in Japan 🙂 keke)

TOP: It’s the most Fantastic and crazy song for BIGBANG. The PV is totally different from the one in the Japanese DVD and the one on Youtube. It’s fun watching both and comparing them.

[BLUE]

VI: There’s a great part “From winter to spring” in this song. It expresses our exact feelings right now!
D-LITE: This song’s appeal is the image of sad but beautiful. All our loneliness and sadness is in it.

[LOVE DUST]

SOL: It’s just as the title says. You sometimes remember old feelings and memories of love, but as time goes on it disappears like dust. The feeling of love so light that you almost can’t feel it, is made into a song, light and full of wit.

[FEELING]

VI: GDRAGON and a famous and popular artist DJ.BOYS NOIZE collaborated! This song is unbelievable! I think it will be great in clubs!! The rap is cool and SOL and D-LITE sang the chorus with an amazing lot of power.

[AINT NO FUN]

SOL: When a lover talks about love, you want them to say it more passionately, when they’re angry at you, you want them to be more colder. But as you repeat these everyday, it gradually dwindles. That kind of love isn’t fun or interesting. Maybe it would be more interesting if you be more angry when you’re angry?…It’s a song like that.

[BAD BOY]

SOL: To me, it’s the most inportant song in this album. GDRAGON and TOP’s rap and the vocals of the three, is in sync the most to become a really good song.

TOP: The lyrics are exactly how we feel now. It’s like we made what we wanted to say to the fans, into lyrics. But that doesn’t mean we are a bad boy. (laughs) It had a good feedback from Korean fans so I’m excited how Japanese fans will react.

[EGO]

D-LITE: The main character (in the song) fell in love at first sight and is appealing to the woman but she won’t take notice. The feeling of your pride being hurt, it’s a song that represents the feeling first love.

Q: Are you guys that “fall in love at first glance”?

D-LITE: I do fall in love at first glance but I’m the type that can’t be lovers afterwards.
VI: That’s a bit lonely.
D-LITE: Yeah, so I’m always lonely. (laughs)

Q: Among the members, Who can confess their feelings from themselves?

VI: If it was a Korean man, they would say “I like you!” straightforwardly! They would think that the woman would be waiting (for them to say so) too. I would say “I like you” from myself and if it didn’t go well, I would go find another love.

Q: If it didn’t go well, would you give up just like that?

VI: Yes, I would! Isn’t this a BAD BOY?!

Q: Is BIGBANG’s BAD BOY, VI?

TOP: He’s honest to his own feelings so I think he’s a good boy.
VI: Doesn’t like her but doesn’t dislike her…Isn’t this kind of ambiguity.. a BAD BOY?!
TOP: The other 4 members can’t express themselves and just think about it. I guess VI (who can act on his feelings) is a good boy.

[WINGS (D-LITE Solo)]

D-LITE: I wrote the lyrics with GDRAGON. It’s a song that says “Tiring days have been continuing but let’s just throw away our worries and have fun!”, with a beautiful melody.
GD: I worked with D-LITE for the first time. I could see that it would get better from here so we were able to really have fun.

[Haru Haru (Jap. ver)]

VI: I think we were able to give a good present for all the Japanese fans who waited for us. Haru Haru is very popular, so by recording that in Japanese we wanted to express our thankfulness.

Q: Your tour will start from May. Tell us your enthusiasm and a message for the fans.

SOL: Our tour this time is a world tour with a famous producer, Lauriean Gibbson. We put our efforts into the music and stage so i think it’s a bit different from the concerts before. BIGBANG’s stage is “energy”. People who see BIGBANG’s performance for the first time, listens to our music for the first time will be able to feel our music’s appeal, and each member’s individuality merge into one and have great power.

VI: At the world tour, I want to show not only BIGBANG’S power but Asia’s power. And we didn’t get to do a lot of promotion in Japan last year, so this year we want to do well at a lot of things. Not only music but I want to show each of our personalities. We want to go on variety programs and try hard at our concerts, and show our Japanese fans our passion and motivation.
