[NEWS] Yang Hyun Suk revealed three reasons for the BIGBANG unit group’s comeback

All the fans’ attentions are directed to BIGBANG’s unit group that will be releasing their new album after a long time.

The 5-member idol group BIGBANG under the label YG Entertainment has released an announcement in YG Blog on last 29th November regarding their new album that is gonna be released on February 2nd 2011. It has been 2 years and three months after BIGBANG released their 2nd album with the title song ‘Sunset Gow’ on last November 2008.

This news is enough to draw BIGBANG’s fans attention. And now YG giving out the news that BIGBANG’s Leader G-Dragon and the big hyung TOP will be releasing their album on December 24th as a duet. And they even revealed that maknae Seungri will be releasing a digital single on January 3rd 2011.

Then, right after all of the members’ unit activities finished BIGBANG will take place for their comeback.

On 30th November, YG’s CEO, Yang Hyun Suk, explained about the three reasons of the boys’ comeback through an exclusive via-phone interview with Starnews.

The first is, they have decided to put all of the members’ musics into BIGBANG’s new album.

Yang Hyun Suk said, “as much as Bigbang haven’t released a domestic album in a long time, in this new album they will include a solo song for each member–no duet song–and it will contain all five members’ music colors” and then he emphasized, “this is a present for all of Bigbang’s fans that have been waiting for them until now.” Then he said, “Bigbang hasn’t comeback in such a long time and now they have put their best efforts to make this album and ready to come back” and said, “it will be great to anticipate them,” with confidence.

The second reason is, after they decided to put all bigbang member’s colors into the album, the songs to start the album with are beyond expectation; there were a lot of songs that too good to put away. And so those songs were made into G-Dragon and TOP’s album, and Seungri’s solo single.

Yang Hyun Suk said, “Of course GD and TOP’s album and Seungri’s solo single was originally made with the thoughts of Bigbang’s album” and then he revealed, “It has been decided that in Bigbang’s album there are only Bigbang’s songs, and it’s such a pity to let the other songs go to waste when it can be a good gift for the fans. And so we decided to released G-Dragon and TOP’s album on December and Seungri’s solo song on January.” In addition, “In GD and TOP’s case, because they have composed a lot of songs, they only have to add in several songs and release the album.”

The last reason is to make Bigbang’s national activities longer.

He also said that, “Because GD and TOP’s duet songs are originally songs for Bigbang, so their album release can be considered as Bigbang’s national activity’s practical opening” and , “with this, Bigbang’s national activities can last longer, and of course this is for the fans that have been showing their interest towards Bigbang although they’re having such a long vacuum time,” and he emphasized, “Bigbang will give you a great time and will be active for the next one year.”

[INTERVIEW/NEWS] Choreographer Shaun Evaristo talks about Big Bang on GQ Interview

Q: Among the musicians you’ve choreographed for, who was the most impressive? In what aspects do you rate them highly?

Shaun Evaristo (Movement Lifestyle): G-Dragon and Taeyang. G-Dragon is a born entertainer with diverse talents, like acting, producing and rap. With such talents, he absorbed choreography with ease as well. With Taeyang, though I coached him in dance, our relationship has already passed that of teacher and student. He’s a friend, or, rather, you can say I’m a fan of Taeyang. His attitude toward learning and practicing dance is incomparable.

Q: If you were to pick a choreo that you were really satisfied with, but which didn’t get the public response that you’d hoped for?

SE: I would pick Taeyang’s “Where U At.” I think it’s because the moves don’t grab you immediately and were somewhat difficult to follow/learn.

Q: What’s the difference between choreographing for a solo artist and for a group?
SE: I personally favor solo. While making the choreography, I become the musician, and sometimes the musician becomes me. I enjoy that. It’s not easy choreographing for a group. You have to make sure that the members’ individuality doesn’t get buried in the group. For instance, with Big Bang each member has his own personality, so I have to make sure it remains alive within the group.

Q: If you were to pick one “Dance King” and one “Dance Queen” among the Korean musicians?

SE: Dance Queen is Boa. I really like her music, and I’d love to have a chance to work with her. I’ve even thought of a different concept for her. 2NE1’s Minzy would be like the Dance Princess. She has talent at a young age, but she’s humble and has great potential. Dance King is Taeyang. My friends in America call him “Tae-Daddy.” They believe he’s going to do big things not only in Korea, but also internationally.

Park Nam-Yong (JYP Head Choreographer): Bi. Would anyone think otherwise? I don’t know about a female musician.

Jeon Hong-Bok (Dance Team “Yama” Leader): For male, Taeyang. For female, I want to pick After School’s Gahee. I’ve heard that Taeyang practices constantly. He doesn’t have a big build, and yet he completely owns the stage. I think long arms are a big advantage. I worked with Gahee when she was a young dancer, and even then she stood out. Her moves are clean and powerful at the same time.

[NEWS]YGE clarifies rumor regarding Big Bang’s inter-personal relations

The members of Big Bang have been swept up in a rather unusual controversy due to the long delay in their album release and their continued hiatus. Rumors began circulating about how the relationship between the members was turning sour, bringing back the old stereotype that idol groups can never last past five years.

A representative of YG Entertainment clarified, “It’s difficult for us to give a clear comeback date since all of the members are personally contributing to the album production. They put more priority on having standards met to their satisfactions as opposed to releasing something quickly. It seems that such a controversy came about due to the delays in their comeback, but the members have become closer than ever by working on this album together.

Another representative that spoke with Osen revealed, “I actually asked the members themselves and they thought it was weird, answering, ‘It’s hard to even be as close as we are.’ They’re boys, so they play and joke around a bit harder than usual. When I told them about the rumors going around, they actually responded, ‘At least they don’t think we’re delaying our comeback because of our music skills. It’s better that they create rumors like that instead.’”

The representative continued, “The members always laugh and maintain an energetic atmosphere whenever they’re together and are closer than they’ve ever been, actually.”
